They described a people "living in a cage", cut off by land, sea and air, with no reliable power and little water, and tortured by hunger and disease and incessant attacks by Israeli troops and planes."The crushing hunger in Gaza and the West Bank is something I've mentioned in previous posts. But don't let the fine dining (hold the pork) and 5-star resorts throw you - they're really starving - no, really. Hey - wait a minute - it appears that in the downtime between worshipping suicide bombers and launching missiles against Israelis, they eat. A lot. I refer you to the handy little chart below. Who knew being impoverished made you fat? Think about this chart the next time you shed a tear for that "humanitarian flotilla" (likely full of weapons parts) chugging its way to Gaza. Hell - they've got the US beat - and that ain't easy.
